Mzimvubu Water Project – Stage 1

Mzimvubu Water Project entails the construction of two multi-purpose dams, namely, Ntabelanga and Lalini Dams, a hydropower station, water treatment plant, primary and secondary water distribution systems with reservoirs and ancillary infrastructure. A phased implementation approach has been adopted due to implementation readiness and funding constraints.
Stage 1 is the Advance Infrastructure consisting mainly of access roads and other supporting infrastructure.
Stage 2 entails construction of Ntabelanga Dam, Stage 3 will be construction of the Water Treatment Works and the bulk distribution system and Stage 4 will consist of the Irrigation and Hydropower components.
