Ms. Mameetse Masemola
Ms. Masemola holds a MBA degree from University of Reading’ Henley Business School. She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public and Development Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, an Honours Degree in Economics from the University of the Western Cape, part of which she completed at the University of Missouri in the United States of America. She has completed several short Executive Programmes, including Leadership in Development from Harvard University and Evidence-based Policy Making, University of Cape Town.
Ms. Masemola is currently the Deputy Director-General: Infrastructure Investment Planning & Oversight at Infrastructure South Africa. This portfolio includes policy and legislation development, the development of national infrastructure strategy to close the infrastructure investment gap and to direct the national portfolio of infrastructure projects and programmes, as well as institutional coordination with spheres of government and public entities.
She has extensive experience in public policy and legislation development and economic regulation as well as deep knowledge of government planning frameworks and management of strategic partnerships. Before joining Infrastructure South Africa, Ms. Masemola was responsible for ICT sector development at the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT). Prior to joining the DCDT, she served in various capacities at the Department of Trade and Industry & Competition, including being the Government Convener for the Trade and Industry Chamber at NEDLAC, policy analyst, and economic research.
In her current role as DDG: Infrastructure Investment Planning and Oversight programme, she leads a team that is responsible for developing the National Infrastructure Plan 2050 and its implementation and driving overall vision and alignment of infrastructure investment across spheres of government, public entities, SOEs and the private sector.
