Six months after the launch of Edition 2 of the Construction Book, we are pleased to report strong and steady momentum across South Africa’s infrastructure procurement pipeline.
More than 60% of the planned projects have gone out to tender as scheduled a significant indicator of progress and continuity in the delivery environment. Importantly, over half of the tenders issued have now been awarded, while the remainder are moving through their final governance stages.
The Water and Energy sectors remain the most active contributors, driving a considerable share of procurement and early‑stage implementation activity.
Over the coming weeks, we will unpack sector‑by‑sector performance and highlight a selection of projects that have demonstrated meaningful progress over the past 6–8 months. These updates will provide the public with deeper visibility into the infrastructure pipeline and the milestones being achieved across the ecosystem.
