National Treasury Opens Budget Facility for Infrastructure Applications

The National Treasury has opened multiple application windows for the Budget Facility for Infrastructure (BFI) to fund large-scale projects requiring R1 billion or more in fiscal support.

The first window closes on April 16, 2025, with quarterly windows to follow.

The BFI supports projects that are economically viable, financially sustainable, and strategically aligned with national development goals. Priority areas include energy, transport, water, and digital infrastructure.

Eligible applicants—government entities, municipalities, and PPPs—must submit detailed proposals demonstrating feasibility and impact. For guidelines and submission details, visit the National Treasury’s website.
