President Cyril Ramaphosa will hand over bridges to Mkhambathini Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal, as part of the Welisizwe Rural Bridges Programme

The Welisizwe Rural Bridges Programme targets the backlog of bridge infrastructure in rural and disadvantaged communities, aiming to improve lives by positively impacting daily experiences and fostering greater accessibility and connectivity. Each financial year, the programme generates a total of 6,270 job opportunities.

Through the government’s investment, bricks and mortar in rural areas are being transformed into hope for a better tomorrow for all. This project serves as a catalyst, enhancing economic opportunities, standards of living, and social cohesion.
