Infrastructure South Africa Leads the Way at Big 5 Construct South Africa 2025

Johannesburg  — The vibrant pulse of South Africa’s infrastructure future echoed through the Gallagher Convention Centre as ISA took centre stage at the Big 5 Construct South Africa 2025. The event kicked off with a powerful display of unity and vision, marked by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting led by ISA’s Acting Head, Mameetse Masemola, alongside key industry leaders and public sector stakeholders.

This symbolic moment heralded the opening of South Africa’s premier construction and infrastructure expo – a gathering that brings together engineers, architects, government officials, and private sector innovators who are shaping the built environment across the continent.

Mameeste Masemola’s presence underscored ISA’s commitment to unlocking catalytic infrastructure projects that deliver public value, foster job creation, and enable long-term economic resilience.

“Our task is to build not just roads and bridges, but an economy of shared prosperity. Infrastructure is a tool of transformation — and through platforms like Big 5 Construct, we harness our collective innovation, resolve, and partnerships to build South Africa’s future,” said Masemola.

Her remarks highlighted ISA’s flagship initiatives, including the Infrastructure Investment Plan, the Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs), and the Infrastructure Development Support Programme (IDSP) — frameworks that are actively helping to de-risk investments and improve project implementation.

She also made a clarion call for public-private collaboration, urging all stakeholders to work in alignment with South Africa’s National Development Plan and Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan.

This year’s Big 5 Construct SA has seen record participation, with hundreds of exhibitors and thought leaders gathering to showcase innovations in green construction, digital infrastructure, and resilient energy systems — all key areas of focus for ISA as it seeks to align infrastructure with the country’s just energy transition goals.

ISA’s involvement at Big 5 Construct reaffirmed its growing reputation as the national centre of excellence for infrastructure planning and delivery. With its technical and strategic capabilities, ISA continues to provide leadership at the forefront of South Africa’s infrastructure journey.
